Who is OOJEE?
A young company founded upon long-standing experience in the
fishing industry and seafood marketing. OOJEE is owned by
Karl Johannesson and his family. He grew up in the fishing-oriented
country of Iceland, where he worked as a fisherman and in
various seafood production plants in Grindavik. After that
he acquired over 10 years working experience in the sales,
marketing and management of seafood, creating strong ties
in the main fishing areas of the world with markets such
as France, Germany, Spain, UK, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands,
Italy and Poland. He worked for Iceland Seafood in Germany
and France, for SIF in France and most recently for a belgian
fish-auction networking company. He speaks several languages
allowing you to communicate with him in English, French,
German, Danish, Norwegian and of course, Icelandic. You can

OOJEE is independent of any ownership or management relations
of any participants of the service. This means that none
of the producers, buyers, transport partners or other customers
or suppliers of OOJEE has neither any ownership or management
power in OOJEE.
Who can benefit from OOJEE ?
European companies buying fresh seafood for processing, repacking
or resale, for example fishmongers, fishprocessors (mareyeurs)
and wholesalers. OOJEE offers both unprocessed and processed
seafood, for example both whole fish and fresh fillets.
Why should you use services of OOJEE
?
To increase your sales & profits by cost-effective access
to fresh seafood. OOJEE pre-selects producers and takes care
of your import formalities to provide you with a low risk purchasing
solution. Not only will you reduce your overall purchasing
costs, but also OOJEE will enable you to test new products,
which will allow you to increase your margins.
How is OOJEE getting paid?
Using the services of OOJEE to purchase your seafood is free
of charge. This means that the buyer pays no cost for the
service.* OOJEE only charges a 2% fixed fee of the sales
value from the producers transactions with the buyers. Instead
the producer enjoyes a payment garanty of OOJEE.
* OOJEE reserves the right to charge a subscription fee at
a later date, but any such change would be notified in advance
allowing you the possibility to opt out before being charged.

What does it cost to sign up for OOJEE?
Signing up to become a registered buyer on OOJEE is free of
charge. It does not necessitate any purchasing. OOJEE reserves
the right, however, to charge a subscription fee at a later
date, but any such change would be notified in advance allowing
you the possibility to terminate your membership before being
charged.
Joining the suppliers’ base of OOJEE as a producer is
also free of charge. In some cases OOJEE will, however, charge
for a market survey in order to identify the market needs for
the products. Such a survey will help the producer market its
product in the best possible way. When the producer sells its products on the catalogues or
auctions, OOJEE charges the producer a fixed 2% fee of
the sold value.
How do I get started / How can I try
it out?
Press the “Register for FREE” button and follow
the instructions to confirm. Please note that this process
does not commit your company to make any purchases or pay any
costs. The Customer Service team of OOJEE will then contact
you to obtain any further information, which it may require.
You will then receive a Buyer Agreement from OOJEE that stipulates
OOJEE’s commitment and your access to purchase with your
payment conditions. This agreement can be cancelled at any
moment and stipulates no requirement to purchase.
Once registered as a buyer, you can then access the auctions
and catalogues and purchase your fresh products directly
from fishing companies all over the world.
What is My page?
My page selects on one single page the products and information
that is most important to you, from the data available on
OOJEE. It also serves as an entry point into the product
catalogues and auctions where you can purchase your seafood.
After creating an account with OOJEE and having reached a
buyer status, you will receive your own personal buyers
code and
password. You can use your password to access your own pages
on the website as often as you like. The Customer Service
team creates your page which will show you the products,
news and
other information most likely to fit your professional needs
and interest. You can change your own profile including your
password and preferences. Your page will serve as a “Dashboard” for you,
showing the most critical information in one compact page,
including a selection of products most interesting to you,
your purchase history and product invoices. From Your Page
you can access the various detailed information, product catalogues
and auctions, lookup previous invoices, statistics, etc. You
can view all this information on the screen or print it out
on your printer.
How do I purchase fresh fish with OOJEE?
Having registered as a buyer with OOJEE, you access “your
page” with your personal password. Your page gives you
a quick overview of all the information most likely to interest
you. From there you can choose products from the catalogue
to view the supply and prices. The products and quantity you
select go into your OOJEE-shipment, which can be viewed from
all the pages. Once you have selected the products you wish
to be included in your shipment you can confirm your order.
You will be able to select the transport most suitable for
you from the available selection together with the associated
cost offered by OOJEE.
I’ve lost my password, what do I do?
If you have lost or forgotten your password, you only need
to click on the link “Forgot password” (under the
access to My Page) and follow the guided procedure.
Confidentiality
What does OOJEE do with the information regarding my company? Do
the producers or the other buyers have access to my profile
(or data)?
The identity of the buyers is never revealed to other buyers.
Neither is it revealed to producers except with a specific
prior consent of the buyer, for example in order to help build
a long-lasting business relationship through OOJEE between
the buyer and their producers. Logistic information for a specific
product-lot names OOJEE as the buyer from the producers for
the import procedures.
The information concerning your company is used by OOJEE
to serve you the best possible way.

buy directly from the source.

invoice is available online after the confirmation of the purchase.
We will also send you an original invoice per
post. All payments are made by bank transfer (SWIFT) to OOJEE’s
bank account as stated on the invoice. Please note that payments
by checks are not accepted.

How does OOJEE select the producers ?
OOJEE has put in place a validation procedure for producers
to guarantee an optimal quality of our service. We reserve
the right to refuse the admission of producers who we feel
do not meet the standards required by our quality charter.

OOJEE is a truly independent service provider. This means
that none of the producers, buyers, transport partners or
other customers or suppliers of OOJEE has neither any ownership
or management power within OOJEE.
